FLOOD ALERTS

The area has experienced heavy rainfall over recent days and concerns have been raised about the risk of potential flooding within Roos village
The grilles have been checked and water is presently running freely. However, sandbags are available if the need arises.
For further details please contact David Winter on 07971827151 or a member of the Roos Parish Council.

In the meantime it is perhaps timely to remind residents of the formal arrangements which are currently in place, and, to draw attention to the  responsibilities of all those who live in properties adjacent to Roos Beck.
Roos Parish Council is expecting the East Riding of Yorkshire Council  to write to Riperian Owners  accordingly. See below:

If your property lies adjacent to Roos Beck, then Roos Parish Council recommends that you acquire a copy of "Living on the Edge" by either downloading from  www.gov.uk  or from the download panel.
The booklet explains the rights and responsibilities of those living adjacent to a watercourse

either by telephone: (01482) 393939, or by email: dog.warden@eastriding.gov.uk
The service will need to know
* the location, time and date of the incident

*a description of the dog

NEAR MISS ACCIDENTS

There is increasing concern about car parking at various points throughout the village.

The ERYC Highways Department does not perceive this to be a problem as there is no history of incidents or accidents occurring.

It is important therefore that any minor bump or scrape to vehicles or a near miss is reported to the Highways Authority. Contact:  Email: highway.dm@eastriding.gov.uk

You should report incidents of speeding or other anti-social driving behaviour to the local police service using the 101 non-emergency number

Take Care – Stay vigilant. Scammers are not always on the internet or telephone

The Royal Mail has requesting the Parish Council to help raise the level of public awareness of the volume of Scam  Mail being delivered to households.
Since 2014 over 4 million suspect items have been intercepted before delivery and whilst the Royal Mail and postal workers take every precaution, some mail will still get through.
If you have any doubt or concern about receiving suspicious mail please contact either the Royal Mail Scam Mail Helpline 0800 0113 466,
or,
e-mail     scam.mail@royalmail.com
