ROOS PARISH NOTICEBOARD
VACANCY FOR A COUNCILLOR.
There is a vacancy on the Council caused by the resignation of a Councillor.
A by-election to fill the vacancy will be held if by 10th September 2020 ten electors
for the Parish Council give notice in writing to the Chief Executive of the East Riding
of Yorkshire Council at County Hall, Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, HU17 9BA
claiming such an election
If no such notice is given, the Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.
PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
Roos Parish Council will follow the national guidelines and advice published by the H M Government.
Council meetings will resume when it is appropriate to do so.

THE TEDDER HILL WIND FARM COMMUNITY FUND IS NOW CLOSED
Funding and application arrangements have been updated and simplified and more 'user friendly'.
- Applications up to £5000 now only require ONE quotations.
- Applications up to £10,000 may now be paid up-front.
- VAT issues have been clarified.
Applications for funding of projects or individual items costing less than £500 may be made at any time throughout the year via the COMMUNITY CHEST
ROOS WIND FARM COMMUNITY FUND 2020
The Fund is open for applications from 10th January until 30th April.
Applications and Guidelines may be obtained from East Riding Voluntary Action Services (ERVAS)
The grilles have been checked and water is presently running freely. However, sandbags are available if the need arises.

Attention is drawn to the responsibilities of all those who live in properties adjacent to Roos Beck.
If your property lies adjacent to Roos Beck, then Roos Parish Council recommends that you acquire a copy of "Living on the Edge" by either downloading from www.gov.uk or from the download panel.
The booklet explains the rights and responsibilities of those living adjacent to a watercourse.

Incidents of dog fouling continue to be reported at various locations throughout the village including Roos Playing Field.
Legal action cannot be taken without information concerning the identification of the dog owner. Please report incidents to the ERYC Dog Warden:

The service will need to know
* the location, time and date of the incident
* the name (and address if known) of the dog owner, and
*a description of the dog
NEAR MISS ACCIDENTS
There is increasing concern about car parking at various points throughout the village.
The ERYC Highways Department does not perceive this to be a problem as there is no history of incidents or accidents occurring.
It is important therefore that any minor bump or scrape to vehicles or a near miss is reported to the Highways Authority. Contact: Email: email@example.com
You should report incidents of speeding or other anti-social driving behaviour to the local police service using the 101 non-emergency number
Take Care – Stay vigilant. Scammers are not always on the internet or telephone
The Royal Mail has requesting the Parish Council to help raise the level of public awareness of the volume of Scam Mail being delivered to households.
Since 2014 over 4 million suspect items have been intercepted before delivery and whilst the Royal Mail and postal workers take every precaution, some mail will still get through.

EAST COAST COMMUNITY FUND
This fund is administered by Grantscape - Milton Keynes.
Applications are made on-line. The area of benefit is a coastal strip approximately 5 miles deep stretching from Flamborough to Kings Lynn.
Roos Woodland Group
The group is very proactive. It has recently produced batches of 'Roos Juice' pressed and bottled from fruit harvested during the Autumn.
The harvest is from plantings of traditional species and unusual tree varieties.

Roos Parish Local Community Transport - The Hedon Shuttle
The Hedon Shuttle - Bus Service CB 3 currently runs from Burton Pidsea and Roos to Hedon.
Its schedule has recently been modified and now calls at Preston (Sandhills Garden Centre) and Bilton (Asda).
